Ozone (O3) Therapy

What is Ozone?

Ozone (O3) is a modified form of oxygen, produced from oxygen (O2) in an electric generator. It is produced as a gas, with powerful oxidizing properties and multiple medical uses, both intravenously and locally.

Ozone increases oxygen utilization by improving the ratio of NAD/NADH. NAD is a major component of the Krebs cycle, the energy-producing system in mitochondria. Mitochondria supply energy for all cellular functions. Aging and age-related diseases result from degeneration of the energy cycle and a decline in energy production.

Ozone can help resolve infections from bacteria, viruses, and fungi by increasing production of cytokines, chemical messengers made by white blood cells to enlist immune support. It also stimulates antioxidant molecules like glutathione. Ozone therapies are  often performed as a short series of treatments to get the best results.

MIMI uses Longevity ozone generators for ozone therapy, which we are very high quality and some of the best available generators for medical purposes.

Types of Ozone Therapy

IV Ozone

IV ozone can be given in saline alone and with both saline and your blood. When done with your blood, blood is withdrawn through a needle and combined with ozone and saline, and then infused back to you. This process requires about 60 minutes. This can also be combined with UVBI or Ultra Violet Blood Irradiation therapy to increase effectiveness.

Although ozone is not a cancer therapy, it can support the immune system of individuals with cancer, including those on chemotherapy or radiation therapy, and it does not interfere with those treatments. We work closely with your other treating providers to ensure you receive the most appropriate care.

Ozonated Saline

Ozone can be bubbled into saltwater (saline), and this solution can be applied orally, vaginally, rectally, or applied to eyes, skin, or ears to treat infections.

Prolozone is an injection used to treat tendon, ligament, muscle or joint problems. The involved area is injected with a combination of procaine, vitamins and/or minerals to support healing, along with ozone. It can effectively reduce pain and inflammation, and help your body repair damaged areas. Prolozone works best as part of a total health plan in combination with other support to get the best results.

Nasal Insufflation

Ozone gas can be infused through the nostrils into the sinuses, using a syringe without a needle. There is often an initial heavy drainage of mucus. Ozone helps resolve sinusitis due to infection or allergies.

Sinus and Dental Infections

Ozone can be injected along with procaine into the soft gingival tissue, at the base of the canine teeth for sinus infection, or at the base of an infected tooth.

Ear insufflation

During ear insufflations ozone/oxygen gas mix is slowly introduced into the ears via a modified stethoscope. The ear canal produces a waxy substance which allows the lipophilic ozone to penetrate and saturate the whole area. Many people report immediate improvement in mood or relief from symptoms like brain fog after doing ear insufflations.

Wound & Limb Care

To treat ulcers or infection, the arm or leg is wrapped in a plastic bag and secured. After air is expelled the bag is then filled with ozone. Treatment lasts 30 minutes and can be employed several times daily.

Bladder Insufflation

This therapy helps with interstitial and acute cystitis. A catheter is placed into the bladder to instill the ozone, and other therapeutic solutions as needed, tthe catheter is removed once treatment is finished. This treatment can be repeated daily or several times a week for several weeks if required.

Rectal and Vaginal Insufflation

This therapy helps with Gi and colon issues or vaginal problems. A catheter is placed into the rectum or the vagina to instill the ozone and other therapeutic solutions as needed, the catheter is then removed once instillation is complete. This treatment can be repeated daily or several times a week for several weeks if required.

Ozonated Oils

Olive oil, MCT, and other oils, can retain a high concentration of ozonides (ozone derived molecules). As a cream or stick, ozone in olive oil can help hemorrhoids, warts, fungal infection of the toenails, and other ailments. As a capsule it can can be used for gut dysbiosis to support a healthier microbiome.

Ozone Sauna

An ozone sauna baths you in ozone as you comfortably sit and relax. It is very relaxing and wonderful for your skin. The sauna is warm, but not hot. It can be combined with a mask to breath supplemental oxygen to mimic exercise with oxygen therapy (also known as EWOT).
